HAMPTON COVE HURRICANES SWIM TEAM
The Hampton Cove Hurricanes is a parent volunteer led swim team. Each summer we run our program at the Hampton House. Our program is only open to active Hampton House members, and we follow all Hampton House pool rules. We are not able to make exceptions to this policy. If you do not have a Hampton House membership, there are sixteen other amazing teams in our league! Additional information and contacts can be found HERE.
Swim team is open to ages 4 through 17, while developmental swim is open to ages 4 through 7. We work on strokes and endurance, and build self-esteem, while having fun. ALL swim abilities are invited to join us. We strive to create a positive atmosphere where fun, fitness and friendly competition welcome our swimmers each summer. We enjoy seeing our swimmers grow socially, emotionally, and physically through swimming each summer.
Details:
Swim team practices weekday mornings (see schedule below)
Swim team competes five Wednesday evenings in June, and concludes the weekend after July 4th at the City Meet (see calendar below)
Swimmers (8U and up) must be able to swim one lap of the pool independently to safely be on our team
6U swimmers must be able to confidently jump in the water and doggy paddle one length of the pool
Registration fee ($135) includes swimmer registration, six weeks of swim team practice, five swim meets, City Meet, awards, t-shirt, and swim cap
Registration fees are nonrefundable
A team suit is not required; however, a one-piece suit is required for swim meets.
Each swim team family is required to fill three volunteer positions each season (Volunteer Policy)
Volunteering is not required for developmental swim program families.
WATER SPOUTS DEVELOPMENTAL SWIM PROGRAM
The Water Spouts Developmental Swim Program gets our most junior swimmers ready for swim team! Through a small group format, we work on starting strokes, building endurance, and other skills needed to get them swimming confidently across the pool.
Details:
Our developmental program is open to ages 4-7 (4 by 6/1)
Swimmers MUST be able to jump into a coach and be comfortable in the water at the start their session
This program is led by our Junior and Assistant Coaches and is not a swim lesson
Developmental swimmers may move up to swim team when they are ready
Swim team swimmers may only move to developmental if space is available
The registration fee ($85) includes swimmer registration, two weeks of developmental program (3X/week), and the option to swim at home swim meets
Developmental program will hold two sessions during the 2026 season: 6/1-6/12 & 6/15-6/26
2026 sessions will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00 A.M. or 11:30 A.M.

Join us Thursdays at 10:00 A.M. in June (6/3, 6/10, 6/17 & 6/24) for COACHES’ CORNER
We will start with stretching and a short swim session to warm down from our meet the night before. Coaches will work on skill development and stroke correction as requested by our swimmers. We will also discuss DQ slips from the night before. This is a great time to bring any questions you have to our coaches and our team committee!
We will wrap up the morning with swimmer award ribbons and free time
Bring a snack or popsicles to share!
